Assess Coverage
Check whether you will be able to ski from the trailhead using the latest high-resolution satellite imagery, acquired daily from US (Landsat) and European (Sentinel-2) satellites. Flip through daily satellite layers to see how the snow cover is changing over time.
Probe For Depth
Snow Intel uses terrain characteristics, wind direction, and precipitation rate to forecast localized snowfall. Use the forecast layers on the map to find areas with the deepest accumulations.
Dig A Pit
Find firm layers in the snowpack using our Snow Profile predictions. Look for darker layers to indicate firm or crusty layers in the snowpack. Watch as these layers soften up, or turn a lighter color, once they’ve warmed up in the sun.
